*Getting SOAKED walking to Varrich Castle in Tongue
*I loved the Brough of Birsay, definitely a favorite spot
*Accordion and Fiddle Club at the Albert Hotel
*Dinner at Foveran was AMAZING (lemon curd and honey comb sorbet...yum!)
*Good wine at Foveran: 2008 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Alan McCorkindale, New Zealand
*the sad dying snail (that wasn't really a snail, but a pepper)
*Shopping and Tea in Dornoch
*Jacket Potatoes and Clootie Dumplings in the Speyside Heather Center
THE SECOND HALF OF THE TRIP WILL POST SOON,
featuring THE BRAEMAR GATHERING and EDINBURGH!

I WAS very upset about the snail ... and I don't know the last time I laughed SO hard about anything! Needless to say, I was glad it wasn't a snail!
ReplyDeleteThe spotted sheepies are called Joeys, for those who want to know about that sort of thing.
The print I bought is of a batiked landscape (of the picture Steph posted) - very cool.
And I would just add that evryone should check out Orkney sometime - it's amazing. And definitely hit the Foveran restaurant - not cheap, but oohhhh so good!!! And I am always a big fan of local produce and proteins!
